LavaLights: Wrap Me in Love

Rain poured down hard in Canterlot. Celstia and Luna were out of town for the month doing their royal duties as princesses usually do. But there was one more alicorn people usually forget about. Of course he is known, but he is overshadowed by his older and more elegant sisters. He went by the name of Universae Strobing Lights ad he was a beautiful shade of purple with a blonde mane. But there was one thing he wanted; something no amount of bits Celestia gives him can buy. He just couldn't put his hoof on it. But still, he sat quietly as winds shook the quiet palace in which he lived.

Universae sat quietly and was reading a book that Celestia left on her throne. The title was "How to Find Love", but Universae wasn't getting into it much. He had no interest in love. And no mare would date him only for love and not something also like money or fame. Every mare he dated either ran off with some of his fortune or used him to get in the tabloids. Universae slammed the book on the floor and let out a sigh as he hung his head low. But he heard a peculiar noise that somehow made itself louder than the wind and the rain. It was a slam against the castle outside. Universae ran out and opened the large door. His mane was instantly wet. He heard a slight whimper coming from the nearby bushes. He looked to find an old friend of his, Lava Lamp. She was light orange and her mane ws blonde and reddish brown. They were close, and he was so happy around her. They had strong feelings for each other, even though they were unaware of it.

What was he to do with her?

The only right thing to him was take her inside and help her out. He lifted her on his back and carried her into his bedroom. He laid her down and covered her with the blanket. She was scratched in a few places, and her hair was tangled with twigs and leaves. Her leg was bleeding, so Universae wrapped her leg up with a bandage to help her heal. He took Celestia's spare hairbrush and brushed out the sticks and leaved and combed out most of the knots. Her hair went back to its original form. He shut off the light and went to sleep in Celestia's bed.

The next morning, he peeked in on Lava. She was sleeping still, and he got the craziest idea. Sleep next to her, Universae's mine beckoned. His insticts got the best of him and he climbed in next to her. His bed was warm but he felt different inside with someone else. He looked at her and did something he never imagined; he kissed her forehead. Her eyes opened slowly and she kissed him on the cheek. "Hello there, sorry for intruding on your sleep." He said to her. Lava smiled as the blush on her face spread on her cheeks. "I was walking and I guess I tripped. Sorry for putting you through this." She said with her voice in a slight whisper. "You know, I don't actualy mind being here with you. I mean, lets admit. We do really like each other." He replied back. "I like you too, Universae. I always have." Lava pushed herself closer to him as he wrapped his hooves around her and embraced her. "I always did too. Lets just stay here in each other's arms and never let go."  Universae said as he grabbed his newfound lover and kissed her passionately.

So this is what love feels like.
